What I do

I create hand drawn watercolor portraits. I use pencil sketches, watercolor paints and watercolor paper. I prefer to use 11x14 140lb watercolor paper and every portrait is carefully sealed with Grumbacher's final film fixative. I do ask for good clear photos to work from. A 3x3, Kodak instamatic picture with 6 people in it will not work. The more dpi the better, 300 dpi works excellent. Digital pictures of 5 mb or more also work well. If your picture is good and you don't have a scanner, send the picture and I will return it with the portrait. I prefer to do one person bust portraits but other things may be considered. I would suggest looking for a photo that has some special meaning to you personally. You will enjoy it on your wall much more if it has special memories attached.

Pricing

My price for an approximately 11x14 single person portrait is $140.00. (The same amount of time would cost you $600-900 at your local auto repair shop) I will send a digital sample of your portrait for your approval before you pay any money. The full amount must be paid before the portrait is mailed. For restoration work I will need to see a scan of the picture to give an estimate of repair cost. There will normally be no postage charge unless you have requested something that requires additional expense to me. In those cases we will have a prearranged agreement. Remember you pay no money before you see your portrait.
